 | 21st Dec 2008 | More 87's Leave Crewe for Eastern Europe
A tip off on the UK-Rail Yahoo Group (cheers boys!) had me jump into the car and head off for Gresty road Freightliner entrance for the movement of 87003/6/34 to Hull docks ...missed them !! But a quick gander at the invaluably Blackberry found a mail saying that one of the wagons had a tyre problem en route ....great ! Anyway I overtook tthe convoy about three miles into their trip on the A500, passing plenty photters en route , and finally picked the M6 Junction 16 abnormal load refuge as a place to wait for the oncoming ensemble ....my piccies of the convoy entering the busy roundabout were ...well...crap !! Luckily, for me they all did a full circle of the junction and entered the abnormal load refuge for maintenance to the front wagon...SOOOO...here's what I got! Thanks to Mark Birch and aStephen Beeston for the tip off on UK-Rail !!

 | 17th Dec 2008 | Ariiva Trains Wales Loco hauled action, Crewe Station
An interesting hour was spent at Crewe Station awaiting the late running 1845 ATW service to Holyhead, 57314 having to be detached at Cardiff being replaced on the rear by 57316, 57315 taking point sounding very nice indeed !
The interest started as 57314 arrived dead in train, along with Mk3 sleeper M10588 and Thunderbird 57313 at the head into platform 12. 57313 was quickly detached and run round onto the rear, where a quick word with the driver revealed the train eas being shunted onto the LNWR Shed where the Sleeper would be left and the ailing 57314 was then to be sent on to Longsight....according to the driver it may need a new traction motor !!
